Two award winning practices. Two approaches to collaboration.

At WOIC 2026 (World Open Innovation Conference), one practice was selected by the expert jury and another captured the audience's vote. Both demonstrate that innovation is not a solo act. It takes purposeful collaboration to turn promising ideas and ecosystem connections into real results.

Hear the stories behind the awards directly from the winning teams and discover what you can adapt to your own innovation activities.

Jury Winner: Tecnopuc, Brazil

Thematic Hubs: Turning proximity into purposeful collaboration

Presented by Ana Berger and Stella Sapper

Having hundreds of organisations in one innovation park creates opportunities. But proximity alone does not guarantee collaboration. Tecnopuc brings companies, startups, researchers and public organisations together through thematic hubs, each organised around shared challenges and supported with governance that fits the community.

In 2024 and 2025, the hubs generated 24 proofs of concept and four commercial contracts.

Discover: How active ecosystem orchestration transforms connections into sustained collaboration, and why one governance model does not fit every community.
